What is the National Living Wage for 2026/27?
The National Living Wage for workers aged 21 and over is £12.21 per hour from April 2026. This applies to all eligible workers including full-time, part-time, agency workers, and those on zero-hour contracts.
What are the minimum wage rates by age?
From April 2026: 21+ years: £12.21/hour (National Living Wage), 18-20 years: £10.00/hour, Under 18: £7.55/hour, Apprentice: £7.55/hour (first year or under 19).
When did the National Living Wage change to age 21?
From April 2024, the National Living Wage was extended to workers aged 21 and over (previously it was 23+). This means more younger workers now qualify for the higher rate.
